The interior is in good condition with no rips or tears, with original over mats, it has a multi function computer with mpg that averages 36 mpg on a long run and 28 - 32 around town and a trip meter ect, ect, 120 ish for 6 mths tax to help you budjet, being a hatchback saloon it has a massive boot with 60 - 40 split rear seats, I have been the owner for the last 4 years and since then it has never mechanically let me down. In the last year have spent alot of money on it due to wear and tear and me for being picky with receipts to prove. New windscreen, 17" alloys that are in good condition with one that has minimal kerbing with Kuhmo tyres the fronts are near new and the rears are nearing the end of there useful life maybe a couple of 1000`s miles left on them. Air Con that is COLD and a CD multichanger in the boot. The bodywork is in fair to good condition with the usual scuffs due to age and a little dent on offside wing (see pic 11) and a touched in graze on the near side rear wheel arch that was present when I bought it 4 years ago (see pic 12) All servicing is up to date but I am expecting the service indicater might come on very soon, only being honest here as you do get bulls@&ters pulling a fast one. Clutch replaced, again carried out by VW Technik Last time at the garage I asked the technician to have a look over the car, He says that it is in very good condition all round. Bodywork Excellent for Age - No signs of rust at all - this car has been well looked after, washed weekly 1 small scratch on back bumper, size of 20pence piece 1 dent in passenger side door hardly noticeable, tried to take photo of this but doesn`t show up Tiny chip in windscreen - never effected MOT - been there for years, no problems. had done less than 8000 miles from new. He had bought it in 2006, with a view to restoring it, but apart from tinkering had done very little. He had acquired it from a local VW garage, who had bought it from the family of the deceased first lady owner who had owned it for 15/16 years. Although she had done very few miles, she had managed to put a ‘ding’ in virtually every panel. The car was a non runner, due to the VW garage having incorrectly replaced a faulty fuel pump with an injection pump. So, although the engine would start, it quickly became flooded by too much fuel, and would not run. The condition of the car, particularly underneath and inside, was excellent. I got a new Weber Carburettor and fuel pump, fitted electronic ignition and a new coil, and had it tuned on a rolling road, and the engine now produces 67 bhp at 5025 rpm, which has much improved tractability. I replaced the front lights, and the rear lights, which had faded, had the dings repaired and had it painted in its original colour. There is no rust, and from the appearance of the underside, I doubt whether the car was ever taken out in the rain. I fitted front mud flaps, got some new footwell carpet mats, and it also has the original Skoda rubber mats too. From Ebay, I purchased and fitted a central locking kit. The car runs very well, and is light and easy to drive. With the car is the original Owners Handbook and Service record, which shows the details of the original owner, the services she had done and the service carried out by the VW dealer. Very few of these cars have survived, and even fewer in this condition, and with such a low mileage. So grab yourself a piece of history! The car is currently on SORN, but I will tax it for 6 months if required at extra cost to the buyer. It has been carefully maintained, regularly serviced and I have a full service record for the vehicle with many receipts. The cam-belt was replaced at the manufacturers recommended interval. It has recently had two new winter tyres put on the front wheels. It has not been involved in any accidents nor has it had any repairs. There is the odd stone chip and scratch on the bumpers but otherwise I think the paintwork looks incredible for the age. The light grey seats were scotchguarded when new, but have a few marks here and there. The car is due for a new MOT in March and I am happy to take care of this before you buy it. for the year there is the odd mark here and there but nothing that spoils the appearance all the tyres are in good condition and the alloy wheels are in good condition too.On the inside the front seats both have slight tears that have been repaired at some time on the side bolster cusions from getting in and out but apart from that the seat are in good condition and are very clean.The air conditioning is fully working and blows ice cold not that you will be needing it just at the moment lol.All the electrics work as they should and all the controls are light and in good order.The car drives superb it has plenty of torque despite the high miles and drives without fault, the clutch is light and plenty of life in it , the brakes have recently been replaced with new discs and pads all round , it has just had a full service oil,fuel,air filters changed so all good there for a few thousand miles .The engine sounds sweet without any knocks or bangs and is dry without any leaks .It has just had a brand new turbo fitted at £500 as when i bought the car it had no turbo boost and the common problem with these engines is the turbo`s so all ok there .You won`t be dissapointed with this car it has loads of life left in the engine depite the miles and still returns over 50MPG .You are welcome to come and view the car by appointment and any test drive can be given .IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME ON 07866664343I`m looking for sensible offers for the car so please don`t offer silly amounts many thanks for looking ... the summer!This workhorse has been my daily driver and despite having covered over 190k miles this reliable diesel engine will be just getting warmed up and runs perfectly well mechanically. As it is the `classic` model it does not come with lots of extras, but it has had time and money invested to make it an excellent motorway cruiser that eats up the miles while returning very high miles to the gallon - expect over 50mpg if driven carefully - and is also modified to run well on veg oil (further details below) and I will be giving away what is left of the veg oil to the lucky buyer, enough for probably two more tank fills!Main features:Recently had new front brake pads fittedAftermarket CD/radio head unitFitted with a brand new £100+ powerful & high quality battery before winter so it starts every time and has plenty of charge - battery is Type 096 - 12V 72Ah / 680A (SAE)All the bulbs work, all the tyres are legal and the car has 7 months MOT and a couple of months tax, so is road legal and ready to drive awayHas been modified to run on veg oil with brand new piping, an additional inline filter AND a heater to warm the fuel as it heads to the engine so it will still run reliably on veg oil even in cold weather. Keep a good veg and diesel mix (50/50 is safe) and you will have very cheap, reliable motoring on veg oil!Selling with around 100L of veg thrown in for free and an already full tank of fuel (worth over £100 on its own)Running this car on veg oil is safe and easy to maintain as long as you change the filters more regularly and keep a greater mix of diesel in when it is cold weather (note: I will not be held responsible for anyone that causes the car to breakdown while running it improperly on veg oil).As you can see there has been considerable money invested in making this a great motorway cruiser or commuter that is most of all very cheap to run. As you would expect there are a few issues with the car that are mostly cosmetic or interior: the bodywork is not immaculate and has some car park dings and scratches (I will take pictures to show these when the weather improves) and one larger dent on the rear of the boot. The interior light does not work properly (I took out the bulb as it would come on of its own accord). The drivers side window winder is loose and needs to be fixed back on properly (but the windows wind perfectly). The front passenger speaker grill has snapped slightly and does not fix in place correctly. Some of the air vents do not adjust properly and need to be positioned by hand. The heated rear screen switch does not seem to work, this could just be a fuse but I have never checked it out as it did not bother me that much. Since changing the front brake pads the ABS light comes on sometimes, this is a common issue and probably just the sensor needs adjusting/cleaning.The car can be viewed in Fareham, near Portsmouth.
